Well for starters, they sell those in the US too, so it wouldnt be much of a special thing. Yeah, you can send stuff like that though, candies and chocolate and all that are completely fine.

Well, as I have two Curly Wurly bars on my kitchen counter at this very moment, I have to contradict the earlier poster--they ARE sold in the US (at Cost Plus World Market).

Is this a pen pal or something who has never been to the UK? If he's been there, then think about things he enjoyed and might miss. If he hasn't been, how about just a selection of things your son enjoys that he would like to share?

It doesn't have to be food, either. Silly souvenirs are fun--from t-shirts to sports jerseys to key chains. Picture post cards are good. Maybe even CDs from area bands that wouldn't be known here. Fill a "care package" box with a variety of little things. Just opening it and digging through everything would be exciting, and he could attach a note to everything to explain why it's important to him--like, this is my favorite candy bar, this is a postcard from where my family went on vacation this summer, etc.

is a cadbury's cream egg considered English? Maybe in a plastic container covered in cotton wool. Would have to check with customs before sending it to see if it was OK. I think its just fresh fruit and veg that cannot be sent.

As for something English, maybe a England rugby shirt!! If you look around you can get one quite cheap. My brother in law suggested this and he got his for £10.

Hope your son finds something to send.

Cadbury's Cream Eggs are sold in the U.S. They will be out in a couple of weeks - the day before Valentine's Day - for Easter.

Any type of cadburys chocolate. Also tea and marmite.
Ex-pats seem to crave this stuff when they return from the US for holidays.
