No..no diapers...the situation is embarrassing enough for him I am sure. With a lot of kids..the problem is the size of their bladder...is not growing at the same rate they are. If that is the case it will work itself out. I had a family member who continued to wet the bed off and on until they were 13..but by the next year it had stopped. Is it mainly a bed time problem? If so..just encourage him not to drink much before bed time. And maybe even purchase a second alarm clock set to wake him in the night so he can get up and use the bathroom.Either way...I encourage you take take him to the doctors...there could be more of a problem here than a weak bladder. Psychological problems could be an issue here as well. But please...do not put adult diapers on him unless the doctor tells you there is no other option...and I highly doubt it will come to that.

I wet the bed until I was thirteen, Do not put him in diapers, something in his brain is not developed yet and it takes time before he will stop wetting the bed, Boys wet longer then girls, I have a male relative that wet the bed until he was 18. Take your son to the doctor and see if the doctor can help!

Your son is 13y/o & wets the bed & you want to humilate him more by putting diapers on him? You need to handle this situation discreetly, not embarrass him. Take him to your family physician & see what he advises. See what the doctor says & then maybe you could promise your son brand new bed once he conquers bed wetting. Be understanding & help him get through this.

I have a 13 y/o dadughter, she wets the bed and contrary to some of the comments she was never abused in anyway. She has a small bladder and makes urine in excess during the night and while sleeping cannot be roused to go to the restroom on her own. after years of waking her up and trying th goodnites we put her on prescribed meds. Desmopressin.. take him to the Doc the meds worked for her. Oh and change or bleach and flip his mattress.... Something about the smell makes them keep doing it.. kinda like little puppys...lol...Good luck

No, you don't need to put him in diapers. The boy probably has something wrong with him. All you have to do is take him to the doctor and see what the problem is. Don't try to make him feel shame.

Terrible plan.
I wet the bed on occasion at 13 and the school nurse told me an exercise I could do to stregnthen my muscles, so glad.
I would have been devestated by wearing diapers.
Talk to your doctor and visit medical web sites to find out why and what you can do.

No, no diapers!!! You should take him to the doctor. It is a medical condition to wet the bed at that age. Even adults have it. I forgot the name of the condition, but there is medication for it. Do not put him down for that... Tell him you will go to the doctor with him and everything should be better.

Yes it would be wrong. It sounds like he may have deeper problems than bladder control if he's still wetting the bed at 13. Take him to the pediatrician and ask for recommendations.
