I get a feeling like a knife is going in above my right eye, my head is in a vise. I'm sensitive to light and can get an aura just from seeing a bright light.
My migraines are related to hormones, as they occur in relation to periods. They are also stress-related.

My first symptom of a migraine is that my vision becomes slightly blurry and I get that aura. It goes away for a half an hour and I think I'm okay, but then my vision gets blurry again and I feel rapidly worse. By the time I get home, I my feel hot, fluish and my legs are week and I am nauseous.
My triggers usually come when I don't get enough sleep and they are
strong perfume
flashes of light or sunlight that catch me in the eye the wrong way
chocolate
mostly lack of sleep and trying to get too much done the next day

I never get the auras before my migraines. However, my symptoms consist of nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, sound and movement. One-sided pain in my temple area that usually lasts 24 hours. Some identified triggers include: red wine, lack of sleep, hunger, stress, possibly nitrates (found in lunch meat, etc, whole milk). I was getting them so often and nothing was relieving them that I was started on Topamax as a preventative in April. Since June, I have had only 2 instead of the twice a week that had been ocurring prior to the end April, when I first started on the medication. It took a month to get up to full dosage. It was one of the best things to happen in a while.

I have so many triggers that I don't know where to start but some of them are hormaonal, some when I get stresses, mad, or upset, miss a meal, that kind of thing.
Symptoms: dizziness, vomiting, nausea, intense pain, sensitivity to light & sound.
I take Fioricet w/ codeine and Zomig nasal spray and they work sometimes for me but not all of the time. Don't be afraid to go to the ER though if you have a migraine for 72 hours or longer despite your meds because that can put you at risk for a stroke.

I'm regularly sensitive to light anyways but when a migraine is coming on it gets worse, my vision sometimes get bad, i get nauseous and of course the unbearable pain in my head. I take Excedrin migraine for mine and usually within 30 minutes the nausea goes away and and the sensitivity and pain goes away shortly after also. I guess i dont really know the Cause of it because I get them randomly... usually at work.

Has he been to a doctor? He needs to go. Psychotic people can claim migraines that don't exist. They also blame those they love of terrible things. It is part of the illness.

I have them too. The root cause is genetics and overactive neurons in our brains.
My symptoms:
• little blind spots and wavy lines in my vision
• nausea
• sensitivity to sound
• sensitivity to light
• headache usually on the right side -- pulsing near the temple and over right eye. Moderate to sever in intensity.
• chills
• diarrhea
My triggers:
• messed up sleep
• weather changes
• strong perfumes or other strong odors
• excessive heat
• bright sunlight hitting me directly in the face

My wife, when she constantly tell me what I am doing wrong, she should make it up to me in the bedroom, and bring another hot girl in the mix...
