from everything ive researched i should be constantly harrassed by a pop up telling me to buy the key verifying the pirated copy. but i havent had that problem. like a mormon my roomate looged on to windows site to update his pirated copy of win. xp pro. of course it didnt work. i restored the system to a date prior, worked somewhat but i still get slowed down to the point im waiting 5 min per click. i then restore back a week or so and im more or less okay. except when i go on to link clicks even w/ my email i hear a beep and my explorer box pops up telling me there was an error.and i have to open explorer and start all over. when i check it to see what it is then i see its something from windows. i think they took my com. over. what if i denied windows any access, and how would i go about that. ? im in the process of studying linux and should be ready to install in a week or so. i live in mexico on $ 100 a week i cant afford to buy bill gates dinner at the carlton.

sometimes the windows website will start logging itself on to my computer w/o me even doing anything. i have noticed if my roomate goes to check his mail at excite next thing that happens is firefox loads its toolbar w/o even asking, a firefox search page pops up, and then my computer wont run right until i restore it back a day.

the com. came w/ it already on it. i would have just put linux on it or got a real copy of windows. you think i dont know how much trouble id save myself. im not a diehard anti windows or bill gates hater. i just wouldnt buy him dinner. and i like what linux stands for. at least in theory. i dont like walmart's effect on the world either, but i still wont pass up a bargin !
