I have a 900MB .avi video file on my computer which runs about two and a half hours. I have a blank DVD which says it it can hold 120 minutes or 4.7GB.

My file is over 120 minutes, but under 4.7GB. Will I be able to burn it all. I want to know before I try and possibly waste a DVD.

If I can, does anyone know any good free software for burning an avi file to DVD so that it can be played on any standard DVD player?

Thanks in advance for the help!

You need DVD authoring software such as Nero Vision or Showbiz DVD, etc that will take your AVI file, turn it into all the appropriate DVD files, and then burn it to a 4.5 GB DVD. Good software lets you choose the bit-rate so you can compress longer videos onto a single disc.
