Anyone got any different ideas for the children's pancakes on shrove Tuesday.

Spinach & cheddar cheese. (extra good if you add chopped tomatoes and crisp bacon!)

Ham, asparagus & swiss cheese.

Apples sauteed in a skillet with butter, cinnamon & brown sugar.

Grated apple & grated cheddar cheese.

Sprinkle with sugar (cinnamon sugar if you like) & lemon juice then dip bites in sour cream or plain yogurt.

Vanilla yogurt & berries or tinned peaches, pears, or mandarin oranges.

Peanut butter & honey (my husband's favorite!)

Peanut butter & bacon (one of my now-and-then treats!)

Pears (from a can) bleu cheese & a drizzle of honey.

Okay, some of these may not appeal to the kids, but you can put just about anything in or on a pancake or a crepe! Have fun experimenting!

I was born in England, now live in Canada.
Our pancakes were like "crepes." Very thin.
Traditionally, after being cooked (which doesn't take very long)...
we would sprinkle with fresh lemon juice and white sugar... roll up and again sprinkle with a little lemon juice and sugar.
Eat them as they are cooked....
These are delicious!
For 2 pancakes: 1 egg, half cup milk, half cup flour, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon of oil .... add extra milk if not a thin batter
Frypan medium heat - little bit of oil - put half of batter in and swirl around - wait until pancake is no longer shiny and has bubbled, then flip over for a minute: or get a Crepe recipe off the Net.

Nutella with bananas. You can find the Nutella at the supermarket or any kind of Hazel spread brand. You slice the bananas and fry them quickly in butter.

Or go get a jar of Dulce de Leche and add some chopped pecans.
