Whenever I don't feel like using curlers or a curling iron, I take a shower before I go to be so my hair is wet and put it in a messy bun or braids. A messy bun will make your hair look more naturally curly and braids will make it look more crimped. Then, when you wak up in the morning, take out the bun or braids and use a curling gel or mousse to make your hair stay like that. It looks really good. Here's a picture of what my hair looks like when I do it:

There are a few ways to do that. One way is to twist sections of your hair tight until you can't twist them anymore. Secure them with a bobby pin and leave it like that over night or until you think it's curled (everybody had different hair, so it's hard to know how long it will take). Hot rollers work to, but if you're worried about the heat damaging your hair, you can try regular curlers. An old fashioned way is 'rag rollers' You cut strips of fabric and twist your hair in them (just like a regular curler) and then tie the ends so the 'roller won't fall out. My sister does that alot, and it works well.

You can get some curling cream or you can get some mousse. First, you wash your hair and leave it wet. Put the mousse on your hair shrunching it, then put it up in a ponytail and put another ponytail holder around the hair like a bun. Sleep with it like that throughout the night and in the morning put a little bit more mousse in your hair so it will stay that way. It really works!! If not then you can go to a salon and ask for some!

The only way to change the curl pattern of your hair is to break one of the bonds that holds hair together and reform it to another shape. This can be done with heat, water, and perm solution, so those are your choices.

You can wind your hair around your finger and secure to your head with a bobby pin. Do all of your head and spray either some hairspray or setting lotion. Once dry remove and run fingers through hair to separate the curls.

Use rollers on hair when it is not completely dry (small portion of hair per roller), then blow dry it. Wait until hair is completely cool, release the roller, use light hair spray on it before you finger style your hair, just to keep th curve in shape, use hair spray again to finish the look.
Sleep with the rollers on might not be comfortable and it might change the shape of the curve, good luck, have fun and look pretty.

My hair is straight enough I have to add some root lift and styling gel. I use velcro curlers and blow my hair dry. Of course, when my hair was longer, I used heated rollers or a curling iron.
Sigh, yahoo avatars really does not feature enough hair styles.

apply some styling cream to damp hair, devide hair into section, twist each section of hair tightly, bring them up to your scalp then secure with bobby pins or hair clips, go to sleep, then in the morning dry your hair then take out all the booby pins, if you want curl right away then wait 30 min. after you twist your hair, blow dry it till completely dry then take out all the pins, becarefull not to burn yourself while dry your hair w/ bobby pins

Rollers is your only other option... but i personally prefer the iron...
they make heated rollers, or buy regular and leave them in overnight...
