I'm not sure about the food, but do avoid alcohol, because it has high percentage of sugar.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

Great question and congratulations on your decision to be healthier! I made the same on last year and lost 25 lbs.
Anyway:
Stay away from: Butter, Trans Fat, Enriched Flour (white bread, biscuits, most crackers, just read the label if the first ingrediant is not Whole Wheat, don't buy it. Also check for sugar some bread actually has it) Anything fried. Processed meats like sausage or bologna. Sugar!!!! Saturated Fats.
Stick to: Lean meats, Vegetables, Fruits, Whole Grains, Nuts, Fish, healthy fats like olive oil.
PS be careful with salad dressing it can make a salad worse for you than a cheese burger.

Eat everything properly not too much. It would be good if you get a personal trainer or a dietition monitoring your diet once in a while. Food dairies do help alot. As for the limit of carbs, protein and fat well you have your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) which tells you around how much calories you need to take in but I would suggest you discuss this with someone who have had training making food dairies and is qualified to do so. best of luck

Too much.

That's it. With proper portion sizes, you can eat almost anything as long as you work it into the day's calories (except brownies - haven't figured out how to get a satisfying serving of brownie to be under 300 calories).

You can have dairy - keep it low fat or no fat. Measure out the serving size.

You can have carbohydrates (bread, etc) - look at the portion size, and choose ones that are high in fiber and low in calories.

You can have fruit and vegetables... have as many as you want! Keep them fresh or frozen, if canned, look out for ones packed in sugary syrup or oils or salt and avoid them.

You can have meat - choose ones that are low in fat (white meat over dark) and get 2 servings of fish a week.

If you watch your portion sizes, and eat sweets in balance (not a lot, not every day), there is little that is really off the table. Besides, you need to learn how to eat for the rest of your life - not just constantly going "on" and "off" diets.

Fast Food. Really. It is cheap, it tastes good, its convienient. But it is loaded, LOADED with fat and sodium. There are two benifits to leaving fast food out. The first is the avoidance of the really tremendous amount of calories. The second is - you still have to eat. So you have to actively make choices about when to take food with you, and what to take. Good Luck!

High and empty calorie items such as chips, soda pop, things with high fructose sugars, candy, cookies, cakes, pies, ice cream. Empty calorie means that you consume more then you expend by eating the item.

Stay away from dairy, especially super processed dairy. Everyone's body is different though so you might have to try a few different things. Just look at the nutritional info and stay away from high fat content.
