Try stores that cater to campers, mountain climbers, and hikers. They need to pack light to travel, and freeze-dried foods is mostly what they pack. If they don't carry it, they may know where to get it. Good luck.

I am sure the soldier will appreciate anything from you. I am retired US Navy. Things you need to take into consideration in sending something over seas is.. Time and perisability of the items.. It can take weeks to send a "care package" over seas. even if you send it air mail. I am thinking that you are sending to Iraq or Afganistan. This will go from the US to a (and can go by surface or sea) staging area for that zone. From there can be sent to a forward area where your reciepient may be.Please keep in mind that if it takes a long time, any perishables will spoil. things to think about sending are cookies, candies that are well packed in a tin box, beef jerky, or other long storage food stuffs. anything like hersheys candies(candy bars will melt in the heat) .hope this help you

I have seen it at the Discovery museums gift shop. So, now that I told you, are you going to send me some too?
