My uncle's blind and looking for a suitable telephone. He wants something with speed dial (at least). I've been looking through argos, currys, dixons, etc online but with no luck. I didn't realise how hard it is to find speed dial phones! Can anyone recommend somewhere or a particular phone?

By the way, I live in the UK and my uncle can't read braille (he went blind a couple of years ago)

RNIB do loads of stuff for the blind/partially sighted. Its not braille stuff. They do all sorts including talking watches etc. My gran has sight problems & gets a lot of information from them when she needs products suitable for her to use. Argos used to do a very large button phone but may have stopped selling it now. Hope this helps as I told someone else this a while back & they found RNIB very helpful

This link will show you images of phones in Braille meant for the blind. http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&sa=N&resnum=0&q=braille%20telephones&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&tab=wi

I would also suggest looking through speciality catalogs people with disabilities.

Look for phones that have integrated voice commands.
I've found my Blackberry Pearl 8100 flawless using voice commands to dial by number or name of whom I'm calling.

just look for one with larger buttons, my dad used to have these special sticker things that protrude, he put one one on the 5 button and could use the phone with no problems, by feeling the sticker he would know where he was, fantastic and you can use them on any phone.
