I just got married, lived in NY for 7 months and the remaining 3 were in CT. Do I also file two separate state tax returns?

You put all of them on your federal return.

Then you would file part-year resident returns for both CT and NY.

For Federal, this will not matter and can go onto one 1040. For the state, you should prorate your income based upon how much you earned for the period you lived in NY and the period you lived in CT.
Also, if you have local income taxes in NY and CT, then you would do the same.
Your question only accounts for 10 months. Make sure you're carefully to account for 12 months when you file.

For federal, you add them together and file from your current address. You'll probably file a joint return with your husband.

For state, you probably have to file in each of the two states as a part-year resident.

you will report 2 state tax returns. you're a section-365 days resident of Massachusetts and a section-365 days resident of Iowa. to keep funds, get carry of the varieties from the state web pages. do in basic terms the section-365 days returns, no enormous deal. there'll be no connection between the two state returns. To do 2 state returns will strengthen your training expenses via approximately $50 at maximum mass-industry training companies.
