I am 130 pounds, 5"3, and 14 years old, I am overweight, so I decided to eat very little, like 500 calories a day. I keep on going on and off, like some days I would eat normally, but some days I would eat very little. I am really fat, and I want to get down to at least 100 pounds. I shiver a lot, and I am always cold lately. Am I anorexic? I don't know what to think anymore.

Anorexia does not always mean not eating anything, it means eating very little. It sounds as though you are going down a very dangerous road and now is the time to turn around. You are not overweight, you are at a healthy weight. If you are having suspicions that you may have an eating disorder then you are obviously not eating healthy. Let your parents know what you are struggling with, I also think that you should get a therapist, if you are feeling as though you need to lose weight when you don't, you probably have more underlying issues with self esteem and body image and would benefit from seeing a councillor. I am in recovery from an eating disorder that I have had since I was 11, believe me it is not worth it!!! Get help now and you can save yourself years of misery!

Quit starving yourself. You should get no less than 1000 calories a day, probably more like 1200 since you are still growing. It sounds like you just nead to eat healthy. I don't think your anorexic. You are just overeager to be model thin. 100 pounds is too small. The lowest weight for a 5'3 WOMAN on a weight chart is 111. That is a female with a small frame. The high end is 147. The average is (drumroll) 129. You're the right weight. Stop hurting your body. Eat healthy and exercise.

IT's an eating disorder. A lot of symptoms of anorexia, and stuff. So i think it's ednos. But its very bad, and you need some help very soon. If you keep going, you could get very sick like i did, and end up in teh hospital. and you're not overweight, you're perfect for your height and stuff. If you want to lose weight, just do it the healthy way. Exercise and eat healthy. Believe me i've been anorexic, and it's not something i really wish i stil had to go through, but i'm still battling it. Good luck.

First of all you are not fat. Eating only 500 calories a day is very unhealthy. A healthy amount of calories if you're trying to lose weight is between 1200-1500.

According to the CDC's body mass index calculator, you are a healthy weight for your age and height. You may feel that you are fat because you are going through puberty. When girls go through puberty, the body adds fat deposits to various parts of the body. It is all part of preparing her body for an eventual pregnancy. This is all a normal part of growing up.

You're probably not anorexic. If you were, you'd be totally in denial. Check with your family doctor for the best advice.

Nope, that's not anorexia. Anorexia involves not eating, at all. But this disorder is not all about food, it's you psychologically thinking you're fat when you're really not.
