What do you mean by long hair? Do you mean shoulder length, chest length or waist length.........people have different interpretations of what long hair means.
I personally think people should have their hair how they want. If it is in good condition and looks healthy, people should make the most of it and not cut it all off, because of some stupid rule made up by society. People should do as they please.

It all depends. I used to have hair down to my hips. When I turned 30 I chopped it off into a very short hair cut. The hair was damaged and I needed a change after 10 years of really long hair. I am 37 now and it seems every couple of years I chop it relatively short and then let it grow out again. I found really long hair to be a nuisance where I had to wear it up most days to avoid getting it trapped in car doors, etc. Now that my hair is long, but not ridiculously long I wear it down most days and have a more trendy cut. I used to think there was an age when it does not look right anymore. Then I look at someone like Demi Moore who has gorgeous long hair and think I should never cut it. Every now and again I see an elderly woman with long hair, and think she looks gorgeous with her long gray flowing locks. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As long as it is healthy, it is up to you. Think about what made you laugh about your teacher. Was it that she had long hair, or that she had horrible style stuck in a generation?

I would say it depends if it still is in good condition. I am over 40 and still have long hair. I still get compliments on it and the salon that cuts my hair always comments on how healthy it is. When it starts to look bad, I guess I will get it cut off, but not until then.
Right now my hair is 4 or 5 inches below my shoulders. I just recently got it cut that short. It was about 5 inches longer.

well if you are really old and you have grey hair than that will just look really bad. really long hair doesnt really look that good on some people. if you have hair up to your butt or longer than that might b to long but if it is above than i think that you are ok. when you get really old i dont think it should be longer than your shoulders.

Never too old to have long hair.
I see lots of seniors here in Florida who still look good with their hair long. This applies to both genders.
Most of them wear it in a pony tail or bun.

Age is just a number. Wear your hair any way you want to.

when you are like 60 get a granny cut as I like to call it. but I saw this one like 50 something year old with gray hair that was a little longer then shoulder length and she looked great because the short gray hair to me looks sorta funny.
