Mazel Tov and best wishes to your son.

I understand that this is a special time in this boy's life and you want to celebrate it with special friends and relatives. Although, the thought of inviting 150 people to one party for a 12 year old boy is overwhelming. Sure he is special, he is yours! I love my sons too! They are very special to me!!

You can take the advice of a father who has two sons and has gone through all the parties and events that one child should be allowed to have in a lifetime, or not. A party of this size is quite a bit over the top. Showing a boy that going to the extreme in front of people, that is, showing off what you can afford (or can't afford) is not only acceptable character, but it is encouraged by you.

Believe me, I understand the importance of this day and how much your son means to you. He will thank you some day for showing him how to be practical and keep a moderate profile. This type of character is in higher demand in the workplace than a pretentious, brassy profile.

Keep the party moderate and you will keep him humble and respectable. That value will last a lifetime, a party lasts one day.

Peace to you always

I'm sure wherever you find the dance floor, they will say how many people can safely dance on it. Rental or otherwise ^_^
