Take small steps, this may seem silly but it works. Stand tall. shoulders back, walk around like you are confident. In the morning or anytime you look in the mirror, say out loud to your self, "I am confident and Outgoing, I am comfortable around people and new surroundings" What ever affirmation you want in your life. Second: Dont look away when people approach you in public, keep your head up and say Hello! and smile. Practise daily on opening your self up and avoid being closed in. Contribute to conversations, dont just listen, offer your opinions. When challenged dont back down, say it is ok we disagree. then change the subject. Third: Take action, no one gets better at something they never do. The example of it is easier to guide a moving object. The simple act of action immediately changes your perpective. Fourth: Start reading books like: how to win friends and Influence People, Read every book you can find on the subject of confidence. You may feel you are faking it at first but can you learn to drive if you dont get in the car and turn the key? What about playing with the different levers figuring out what gets the result you want.

Outgoing? It takes 20-30 days to change a habit. Everyday greet someone you dont know. Start with a simple hello, the to Hello, how are you?, then I can't believe this weather were having, is it suppost to stay this cold? Ice Breakers that initiates conversation, even if it is short. Keep going, keep practising on engaging conversation with people. After a while you will realise that there are a lot of people in thier shells too. That is ok, just say to yourself, I never want to be like that again. Read!, Practise! Remember FEAR means, False Evidence Appearing Real. Dont worry what other people think. For example, if someone is having as bad hair day do you really care? If someone wore the same shirt two days in a row do you really care? If someone laughs are they going to pay your bills if they dont like your business idea? If you dont stand up for yourself and show confiedence is someone else going to do it for you? How many things do you think would not have gotten done or ever created if they worried about what other people thought? You have a brain that has been proven to do 20,000,000,000 calulations a second. Running every impulse to your body including your thoughts and movements. Are you to waste your incredible creation on self doubts and less a achievers life?
YOu far under estimate your ability. Get busy, make everyday count towards re-programming your mind for success. Contact me if you want to know some great organizations that help with this, Your personal motivator Ken in Kansas City

I have a few options which i have carefully thought about....

1. Try and wear vibrant colours, but not too daring!

2. Maybe joining an acting school, or taking drama classes in college, it brings yourself out of a shell more.

3. Try and go to more parties and social clubs, where you can meet people, and make yourself a new person.

4. Geting a job that is quite socialable.

Good luck, i hope these ideas have helped you..

Confidence comes from within, and if you feel good about yourself then you will become confident and along with that will come you being more outgoing.

I personally have suffered this problem myself and have just taken a big step and joined a gym, already I am starting to feel the benefits, good luck x
