i have taken tylenol cold, robitussin dm/cold, antibiotic which contains cough medicine, halls drops, ricola drops and nothing has helped. plz help and tell me if u have other suggestions.

Mucinex-anything that contains the ingredient Guaifensein. That stuff works wonders. Give it a chance though. My doc told me to use the Mucinex-its quite expensive though, but it's worth it.

You don't say the type of antibiotic you have taken, but that is exactly what you need, but you also need to be seen by your physician to make sure you do not have strept throat. If you do than you need the proper treatment and plenty of fluids and rest. Try to push as much fluid as possible to keep from being dehydryated as this will only cause more problems. Of couse continue taking Tylenol or Motrin for fever and aches and pain. But above all please see your physician soon. Hope you are feeling well soon!!

Stop medicating yourself and try out some home remedies. Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. You can find some good home remedies at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html
