I was just wondering if anyone knows of any place that you would take your significant other in or around Indianapolis. I just moved there recently so I have not yet gotten the feel of the area. Is there any particular place that is great to take them out to eat (yet reasonably priced..I can't afford St. Elmo's right now) or even something else to do? Thanks for those willing to help! :-)

When we want a nice, reasonably priced dinner in a romantic atmosphere, we head to Mama Carolla's in Broad Ripple at 1031 E 54th St. Very good italian food in a unique setting--it almost seems like they converted an old house into a restaurant. A nice, cozy fireplace is blazing while you wait to be seated.

We also love Binkley's, which is at the intersection of 59th and College Ave. Their stuffed chicken breasts as well as the mushroom ravioli are awesome. Also, there is a cozy fireplace in the middle of the dining area that adds to the charm. Binkley's is probably a little cheaper than Mama's, but both are much closer to ~$40/couple than St. Elmo's!

For a little more money (but still pretty reasonable for a night out) you can check out The Corner Wine Bar in the heart of Broad Ripple at 63rd and Guilford. The good food is reasonably priced, but if you go the wine route the bill will start to rise quickly. This also has a nice romantic setting.

Sorry for keeping my answers in Broad Ripple, but that's where we live and there's a reason we don't leave!

You can go downtown Indianapolis, they have some good resturants there in the circle center mall and there is a cool movie theater. Not really sure what else! Hope I helped...

If you live on the northside, try Capri, Midtown Grill, Cafe Nora, Sullivan's, or PF Changs. Be sure to make a reservation.
