Just try to be yourself. I know everyone says that, but why would you want a person who doesn't like the real you. From experience, I can tell you that the worse things guys have ever done on dates that have turned me off are 1. Get drunk at dinner, 2. Keep trying to put his hands on me, 3. Act rude to waiter, 4. Be really judgemental.

Obviously you need to be yourself. Try to achieve a balance confident but not cocky, easy to talk to but not a chatterbox, not painfully shy but a hint of nervousness shows you are genuine. All very easy to say! Try to stay relaxed look upon it as an opportunity to meet someone new who may be an interesting addition to your social circle, not the be all and end all!

All rather human being-pleasant to say! attempt to stay tender look upon it as an probability to fulfill someone new who can be a exciting addition on your social circle, now no longer the be all and end all!
