I am 70 years old and still paly golf quite often I can still drive the ball off the tee about 240 yards. However, I tried one of the new R7 draw drivers and every time I hit it I got another 20 or so yards and was out there with the young guns. Was this just in my head or should I buy one of these drivers.???

Glad to see you have a fresh breath of life into the drive ol' timer! I say ol' timer with upmost respect! anyway, it all depends on your current driver you are using. if its a small headed 300cc model, then by all means buy a 450cc big headed monster! It has been more than obviously proven that the larger face and head drivers are more forgiving. The COR (coefficient of restitution) is how lively or "hot" the face is when the ball is struck. All drivers made today by major companies have the max allowed cor. Its 0.83 I believe. I think you should go to a course or range that has a demo day and hit several drivers to see what you like. Then go to Ebay and buy from there. I have saved several hundred dollars by selling older clubs and buying newer used models. I do not mind a couple scratches on the sole for 150-200 bucks cheaper! Case example- sold taylormade R7 quad for 150 on ebay...bought R7 460 for 200 and it had a better Aldila shaft and it looked like it was hit 10 times max! On Ebay, just make sure you see a pic of the driver and that they state the condition with a scale of 1-10. 1-2 means it looks like it was run through a meat grinder. 3-5 means it looks like it has seen years of golf without a headcover. 6-8 means it has seen some rounds but was taken care of. 9-10 Is usually like brand new and has a fewscuffs on the bottom from being hit a round or two. GOOD LUCK! BUY A NEW DRIVER!

I don't know what kind you have now, but the new technology in drivers can get you some extra distance compared to drivers made 7 or more years ago.

look in the journey that your 4'11 and hitting a 9 iron one hundred thirty, try to be hitting your motive force a minimum of 210. i did not hit my 9 iron one hundred thirty till i grow to be a sophmore in severe college. Get some training to confirm out why you at the instantaneous are not driving it farther. and attempt out for the team in spite of in case you at the instantaneous are not as solid. at the same time as i tried out for my severe college team in 9th grade, i averaged a ninety....on 9 holes!!! i grow to be a 5 handicap via the proper of highschool. best of success to you, save operating difficult.
