Hi there again... ideally cats best benefit from having their teeth brushed to ensure no tooth decay and periodontal disorders develop. Most food treats do not provide the amount of scaling/scraping like regular teeth brushing does.

Please see the weblinks I've included with my previous answer to your question about how to brush a cats teeth. Each of these veterinary website indicates how important brushing vs. hard food treats: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070203125403AAk5JEj&r=w#RJYoXDu9A2XVqtfM2_s6_OH.YxQ7CnAFGc8J6J_jjOqo5ME3z.W.

Treats definitely should not be served as a meal. It can make your cat sick (vomit, diarrhea, etc.), and it not nutritionally balanced. If you look at the ingredients, it is mainly a lot of grain, which cats can't digest. It is just pooped out. There is some nutrients and real food in it, but not enough to sustain your cat. Low-quality to mid-quality food may read the same as the treats, but the result is the same. A bunch of filler that is pooped out. A good food should always have a meat as the main ingredient (no mystery "meat", it needs to say what the meat is, such as "chicken"). I don't even give my cats treats since most of just full of crap that isn't good for the cat. When I do give a "treat" it is really piece of high quality dry food. I serve my cats meals of canned food with a midnight snack of another high quality dry food (just enough to let me sleep past 6am but not a full meal). The "treat" dry food is a diffrent size and formual than their "snack/meal" food so it really is special to them. I only give treats after nail trimmings, baths, heavy brushings, or after an interactive play session to reward their hunting skills.

Hi there! I'm noticing that you need help finding the right kitty treats for your baby JJ. My suggestion is "Greenies" or a helpful breath freshining " Pitter Patter". It comes in a small Altoids sort-a like container. My cat loves them, and also, they are actually good for her. Plus, they both help fight plaque, and built up tartar and freshens cats breath. Good Luck for baby JJ!!!

My cats love the "Greenies" treats. They really help with their breath and it is also supposed to help with plaque and tartar on their teeth. Not too expensive and can be found at most pet stores.
