the wars over for him. but he did not 'lose' it. If one soldier goes home, he did not lose the war. A dead soldier could even win the war, depends on definitions of winning the war. He could be mortally wounded and kill the last bad guy, here he's dead but he won the war, for what that's worth.
Our occupation of iraq can hardly be called a war, we 'won' long ago. We rolled through crushed what remained of the army, and had free roam of the place. Subverting the populace however is a fairly new game in history. In the past conquering armies had no desire to control the peasants, they'll take your fields and your pigs but don't care what you do with your life so long as you have more pigs when i return.
The peasants themselves had little concern and just pay taxes to whichever party has the most guns and comes around threatening them. If two parties threaten you then you bring this to the attention of the war lords who then battle for who gets to exploit you. Maybe nothings changed.

No. If a soldier died only means to us servicemen that he did the ultimate sacrifice , the wars are lost by the leaders of the countries involved in the war, ours is decide by our politicians.

In the last couple of serious wars (Iraq and Vietnam) the disparity in kill ratios was horrendous in our favor. But there are those in power, then and now, that can't quite stomach victory for us so they call it defeat. therefore, according to your logic the enemy has been defeated on a huge scale-its just a shame the media are so good at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

No, that means their families lost them. The soldiers in Iraq aren't fighting a war, they're doing their jobs. Bush has already lost HIS war (because it's not America's war, it's not the soldiers' war, it's Bush's war.)

Apparently, every soldier lost the war..
because they kill and get killed for you, and you turn around and mock, not only those who lived and watched their friends die, but those who died themselves.
They lost the war because they can't legally shoot you.

It means he lost his own personal war. Are you trying to poke fun at dead soldiers?

He wouldn't be able to lose the war single-handedly! The bottom line is that he fought to protect his country and should be admired and revered for his or her bravery!
