I love a person who lives in a different country and we want to get married. we also live in different time zones.
he has started this thing that i have to sleep by midnight coz i have studies. its hard for me to do so coz i am used to staying up a bit late and chatting with him. he said its very important to him that i sleep at 12. i tell him i miss him and its hard to leave him and go sleep, but he still insists.
what do u think?

It sounds like he cares for you and your health a great deal. If you get married, what time zone will you be living? It is important to do well in your studies and he knows how you feel about him. You can comprimise on a time to get off the phone and get some shut eye and to study. Start by making it an hour earlier. Communicate and you will be able to comprimise and come up with a solution suitable with both of you. Best wishes to both of you.

The question I want to ask first is was your studies being effected by talking to him before his new 12 o'clock rule?If your answer is yes then I would say he has your feelings in his best interest.Next question: Does he stay up late or is he an early sleeper? If you answer early sleeper then maybe your late night phone calls was keeping him up.But if you answer that he stays up late then I would ask this question. What is it that he is doing now after 12 that he is not interested in conversation with you anymore? Who else is filling up the time slot that you two use to share? And then decide is it worth it to lose sleep over?0

Please don't make anything out of it. You do know, don't you ? that when he refers to 12 and to midnight, they are one in the same.
He knows that in order for one to do good in their studies they need adequate rest.
One day after all the studies you may be together in one time zone and never have to be apart for long at a time
Blessings to you both and happy days are ahead together.~Jill

The more you sleep the better you will do in your studies. Then you can graduate and go be with him.
