It comes in a container that is a cartonlike box but you do not refrigerate it until you are ready to use it?

Yeah, it's UHT milk. It's ultra heat pasteurized to kill off any bacteria. It's fine, but lukewarm milk is just weird. I put it in the fridge before I used it while I was in Italy so I could have it cold. UHT milk is actually used all over Europe.

My mom bought chocolate milk like that once. But it was in a plastic bottle instead of a carton. It tasted exactly the same as regular milk.
