You can add the seasonings to the veggies prior to steaming and they taste a lot better. Especially when using fresh pepper from a grinder - it softens the little bits if you know what I mean. Costco has a great Sea Salt and Garlic grinder that is really really good They also have a lemon pepper grinder that is very good also I would try garlic, pepper mixes are good and if you like asian foods you can try a ginger mix or asian 5 spice. Just about anything will work - it's your taste so whatever works for you. Emeril has some good spices out there - I haven't tried them personally but I have had others tell me that they are good.

After they are steamed-stir in butter or margarine to start. Then season to taste with salt, pepper, or herbs. For steamed broccoli top with shredded cheese of your favorite flavor. I prefer a medium cheddar or a colby/jack mixture.

Try a little sprinkle of Mrs. Dash. It's unbelievably tasty on bland veggies without overpowering the flavor, like garlic salt or onion salt can do.

My favorite one is lemon and herb. And for a butter flavor use butter sprinkles. Butter sprinkles comes in a small bottle like spices do. Follow directions for best results.
