Your lab has lived a good full life it sounds like. You should take him/her to the vet for an exam just to be sure that all is well.

I would take him to the vets and get him checked out ,labs are more prone to put weight on the older they get and 14 is a good age for a lab ,i hope all's OK with him but do get him checked out.

14 years, though not exceptional, is quite old for a dog. You need to take him to the Vets as there are several age-related conditions which can cause him to lose weight. Many are very well treatable if diagnosed early enough.
