I can't say where faith has gone... but I can offer my opinion on what I think has caused it to grow much more difficult to find in the people around us. Secularism/Materialism seems to have taken over as people focus on acquire more wealth, more possessions, always wanting more. It makes me sad, seeing how this focus on worldly things has caused so many millions of people to become so cynical, spiteful, and angry at either life or God.
But I don't give up on God, and I keep my faith. Faith is what keeps me going during the day when everything seems to be going wrong. I'll just send off a silent petition to God or Mary and ask for the grace to get through things. And I try to show my faith in the things that I do, although I know I tend to fail miserably when it comes to dealing with my mother and sister. If there's something that I can do, a word that I can say, a smile that I can give, a question that I can ask, a compliment that I can hand out, that will make someone's day better, or make them smile or laugh, then I try to do it.
My closest friend is extremely strong in her faith, and through our friendship, we have made our own faith even stronger. I hope that I show my faith through my actions, but I know that I don't always manage it. All I can do is try harder and hope that by living what I believe, I can strengthen the faith of others and bring them closer to God. I am currently trying to cut down on my wants for things I don't have, like CDs, movies, computer games, etc., because once I have them, I don't use them that much and it's kind of pointless to own something if you're never going to use it.
Okay, so my answer turned into a rambling vague response, but I hope it's an answer enough for you!
God bless.

People grew to realize that you can't have faith in anything that cannot be proven. Thus you can only have faith in that which you know will work for certain.
I can safely say fro myself that, i would probably have the faith religion teaches about if i saw faith move a mountain

It went down the drain... with the US... when Bush took over. Most of us lost all faith when we saw that Bush was allowed to run a country and controll the lives of millions... like he took that whole sacrifice thing from the bible literally and though "lamb" meant "our sons and daughters".
We've given up hope.

Faith is nothing real, through faith alone you can believe anything at all and that is not really a positive thing for society..so good riddance is what I say.

People have been stabbed in the proverbial back too often when having faith in things - can you blame them for being a bit skeptical?

A measure of faith is given to every man. Most choose to have faith in Evolutionism or moral relativism, or materialism.... Very few have a saving faith itn YHVH!
