Unfortunately so. venice, is already in trouble, it is already under water. If you have not, watch "An Inconvenient Truth" told by Al Gore who is a starch supporter in the theory of global warming. It tells of Revelations to come and actually shows an image of Manhattan Island 20 feet under. If sea rises, coastals are screwed.

I think yes it will be the end of many cities on the coast especially if they are close to sea level. We can only stop nature to a certain extent with damns and sea walls but nature is stronger.
