Any zip lock type freezer bag is good but only the first step to preventing freezerburn.
Freezer burn is caused by ai oxidizing between the food and containter. So the less air in the bag and the tighter the fit of the bag to the food the better.
It is best to wrap food in clear plastic cling wrap or heavy foil before placing into the ziplock bag. I usually wrap the food tightly in portions and then place it in the bag.
Then zip the bag all of the way across but leave a small 1 or 1/2 inch unzipped area.
Use this area to suck as much air out of the bag as possible thus drawing the bag tightly into contact with the food. Then zip quickly to preserve the vacum.
Nothing beats a vaccum sealer but I have never found a need for one using this method. I don't even use the expensive brand name bags. Store brands are fine as long as they are freezer bags and the gimmicks of brandname bags are cumbersome and unnecessary.
Just remember - ANY air causes freezer burn. If you are freezing whole chickens you may want to put a freezerbag of water or the giblets in the cavity to take care of that air pocket.
Also freezer burn is not dangerous that know of. It only affects taste and texture.
Happy Freezing! I buy most everything in bulk, butcher, portion or make hamburger and freeze it in easy to use quart bags. If I have over 4 bags I usually put them into a larger 1 or 2 gallon bag to keep the freezer organized.

Any ziplock bags works for me and I have tried them all. Now I just shop for price, especially if it is only for a few days. But I think ziplock has freezer bags. I happened to get a free case where I work. I just put the chicken parts half cooked, get the air out, and then freeze. Good for 5 days for me. And there is no good way to cook with freezer burn. If that happens with my chicken I just throw it away. That is why I use the sealer, last year, I did not throw away, ONE PIECE OF FOOD. I look at the money I saved from the previous year throwing food away all the time.
I used vacuum pack if it will stay more than 3 days. I bought the cheap sealer as I did not want the more expensive one that will seal containers too as I have not use for that. The sealer paper is really not that much versus an expensive freezer bag.
FYI, check out the price of the bags and paper you use in a month. Then check the price for the sealer paper. Like me, you will be in for a big surprise. But like advice I ever give, no one listens, so I say find out and you will never go back to the dark side. lol

The only way to prevent freezer burn is to get all the air out. However, if you do not leave it in the freezer very long (say less than a month) you can wrap the chicken in wax paper or foil and then place in freezer bags. You can cook chicken with freezer burn but it is hard to get rid of the freezer burn taste unless you fry it or put heavy seasoning on it .

get a vacpacker. best thing you can do to keep meat fresh for longer period of time. last at least twice as long. food sealer, sucks the air right out and seals it air tight.
