Neither one of them is winning the war at this point due to high prices, lack of consumer awareness, and the fact that people are forced to choose between the two when most consumers would buy a regular DVD to avoid having to make a decision that might be costly in the long run.
Both have already found their way to computers and game systems, both have already had security compromises, and both are still too expensive for the average user to care, although HD-DVD discs are cheaper than Blu-ray.
Recently, Warner has released a HD-DVD / Blu-ray Hybrid:

Personally, I think that a hybrid disc is a stupid idea. Why would anyone shell out extra money if they are only going to use half of the product?
A hybrid HD-DVD / Blu-ray DVD PLAYER would make far more sense:

I would say HD DVD. It has been more widely advertised, and HD TV acts as a good advert for it in itself..
Even though the PS3 will be using BluRay discs, I think HD DVD will win the war for movie discs, which has a large market.
What do you think?
:D
