No, I'm offended by the Bible because it portrays God as a bully and a tyrant, claims that humans are unworthy of God's love, then outlines a bizarre list of rules to follow to keep God from setting us on fire. It's completely and utterly ridiculous. What kind of madman creates a god like that, and what kind of fools believe in it? If there is a God, rest assured that He despises Christianity, and views the Bible as blasphemy of the worst kind.

I have always taken responsibility for my own actions be they good or bad instead of praising or whining to a deity.

The bible doesn't offend me. I merely look at it as an ancient book with many different authors who held vastly different opinions on the events they saw. That's all it is.

No not at all. What offends me about the bible is the way it portrays a good and loving God. The bible is fiction.

It also offends me is that a chauvinist homophobe named Paul was allowed to alter and twist the life of a good man to his own gain. Fear was instilled when the imaginary place called hell was invented.

What offends me about the bible is that with every new translations words are changed to fit the agenda of whomever is translating it.

No, but the Bible would disagree with you (or at least the Christian interpretation of it):
1. Original sin - according to Christian theology, we must be saved because we are punished for the sin of Adam and Eve (ie., the eating of the forbidden fruit). God put this sin upon us, not us.
2. Several places in the Bible seem to imply that God's grace determines whether we will accept or reject him. This was the basis for John Calvin's theology of Predestination (the Puritans/Pilgrims of Thanksgiving fame believed in this). If this is true, as Arminius points out, God is responsible for evil as well as good, placing the blame of sin upon him.

I agree with you that people are responsible for their own mistakes. I reject the Bible not because it offends me, but because common sense tells me so. I do have great respect for the moral teachings of Jesus, nonetheless.

Fiction is not offensive. Attempts to use folktales as the basis for modern-day law, and to impose same on everybody, are offensive. And the concept of sin -- which teaches that normal human instincts and urges are crimes against a nonexistent being -- is offensive as hell.

I think it is not completely our fault...

Figure you were in a war you must have been wounded, broken, or even gotten dusty, so do we; all the time we been fight by Satan....

Bible has revealed that Satan the main instigator for every sin
"And the Evil One who put them in error " Rev 20:10
"From the first he was a taker of life;" Joh 8:44

Even our lord Jesus; "For forty days, being tested by the Evil One" luk 4:12

Hence,
"For having been put to the test himself, he is able to give help to others when they are tested." Her 2:18

GOD KNOWS OUR WEAK NATURE.

So God gave us the chance to repentance like not the Satan

Just,
"Take up God's instruments of war, so that you may be able to keep your position against all the deceits of the Evil One."
Eph 6:11

No, I'm offended at the sheer lack of moral standards that the God of the bible displays! He makes Hitler look like a saint by comparison.

Most people are. That's because they are offended that they have to claim their faults. Isn't it always someone else's fault/problem? It's not America's fault we're fat. Nope it's McDonalds. It's not the lazy peoples fault they don't have a good job. It's society's fault. etc.

I'm not religious, but people don't want to acknowlege right/wrong good/bad and their own responsibility because they are lazy.

Omnipotent being or not...

No I thank the bible for letting me know what my sins are, and telling me how to live right in the eyes of God.

No. Sin is never God's fault. Sin is always a decision we make. We can't blame God for our sin. We should pray that He'll help us not to sin and work as hard as we can to avoid sin. God Bless!!!!
