Your state's sex offender registry will to a degree detail the charges at hand, though some of the SOR is info for public, it is offered for public safety but it is not articulated for the public to fully completely understand. If the public could clearly define it the state would be accepting a huge amount of llegal liability.
The law is something written that is meant to be interpreted by legal counsel. Every state defines CSC differently than others usually, so here in Mi we have acts of penetration with different objects, different ares on the human anatomy that were touched in certain ways, it is all variables, but if you want to go onto to the SOR and find specifics it wont happen, there are limitations to public info regarding criminal offense. It will more than likely say the offenders name the charge, place of residence, the date of offense and that's all your getting, It wont say that james Doe, took his hand and placed it on Jane Does ______________________. It would be greatly disturbing to the primary and secondary victims, not to mention Law suits, I was a victim/survivor of sexual violence I knwo what's there and what he did to me is not on the SOR in MIchigan, its all those things I mentioned no specifics, cause if there were every single woman who was sexually battered would be sitting in Malibu in a multimillion dollar home after the sued the local govt, state govt and everyone else who interuppted their peace of my mind

if the victim was over that age of 18 there should be a public report the vics. name should be blocked out though unless he or she said it was ok. If it was a minor the report will NOT say the victims first or last name. You should be able to go to the court house of the county he was charged in and look or ask for public information on his name. They may require a small fee some will point you in the right direction. Personally i'm thinking if it was seriouse enough that he had to register that you should be staying away from that person.

Hire a private investigator. In my area, you could have a private invesitgator run a background check on someone for between $50 and $75, and it would only take them about ten minutes to come up with the answer. Sexual Assault 4th degree could amount to him touching another person in the groin or thigh area, or on the breast, or touching the clothing covering one of those areas. Having to register as a sex offender also has different degrees...I would want to know if he only had to register during the term of his probation or parole, or is he required to register for the rest of his life....that is a LOT more serious!! I guess that I would give him the opportunity to explain himself before I made a decision.

You can find the definition of any crime in the criminal codes of your state. Most are posted on line, and may be linked with your secretary of state website. By searching those, you can find the elements of the charge. If you are wanting to find the actual details on this particular person, you may be limited on the information you can gather, though it differs from state to state. Some states have online registration where that information can be obtained.

You will not have ordinary access to the actual accusitory instrument (Complaint form) but if you read the Penal Law for your state under Sexual Assault 4th degree you can get a general idea of what it took to complete the crime.

Well I don't know where you live, but, a record of that should be in your court house and that is considered public records. Go check it out. It may cost you a buck or two for a copy, but they cannot refuse you and if they do, request to see the judge.
