That subject ambiguous. Many believe the Antichrist will be "a" pope, not necessarily the one in socket at the moment.

Some believe George Bush is the Antichrist - and others believe someone else is the Antichrist like the President of Iran.

As for me - I believe the Antichrist will come out of Islam and pose as their awaited, Mahdi. AND I believe the false prophet that is supposed to accompany the Antichrist will be the Pope - again I have no idea what pope, this one or another.

When you get down to it - no one will know even when he shows up - a few will recognize the Antichrist however.

I don't know any Christians who think the Pope is the antichrist, although I know from studying church history, that many Popes were considered to be the antichrist. Religion has a way of bringing out very strong emotions in people. It seems that some people will take a scripture they believe very strongly in, and if anyone has a different opinion about it, they are going to hell. John Wesley said it best when he said (paraphrasing) Jesus Christ first, everything else is negotiable.

Im a christian and I dont think the pope is the antichrist...
The Bible speaks of the antichrist...
It will be someone, that all people will or might fall for, even those that do not believe in God right now..they will when the antichrist comes...very scary.

I think it will be someone in politics..thats just a guess, not a prediction

Some do, unfortunately. They have a great convoluted "history" that explains why, which, if you ever read it makes you wonder how any true Christian can believe such a hole-riddled theory. Many Christians also think the Pope is rich because he lives in a "palace", but in truth, a friend of mine went to the Vatican once on a tour and she said he lives very humbly and simply. He personally owns very few things and eats a very simple menu. (did I say "simple" too many times?)

People you are all missing the point. It s NOT about FEELINGS ..IT S ABOUT ACTIONS. Do ANY OF YOU read your bibles? The antichrist will be "well liked"..hmm. The antichrist will "allow" people to BOW to him...Hmmmm. In the Bible it talks about: John falls at the angel s feet to worship. But he is told, Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! (v. 10). Once again he falls victim to the temptation of false worship. NO POPE, NO PASTOR, NOT EVEN AN ANGEL IS WORTHY.

I do not!

Pope Benedict XVI is a man, who was called to a unique ministry within the Christian community. His vocation is now similar to Saint Peter's ministry in unison with the other Bishops of the Church.

Pope John Paul preached love and peace the same message as Christ,he traveled the world meeting the youth and loved them,he died as a pauper without a single personal possession, and they call him an anti-Christ? how vicious can people get, and bloody self-righteous?

I don't know which Christians you are talking about.

I am sure very few Catholic Christians do, and I know of a lot of Protestant Christians that, while they do not follow the Pope, do not consider him the anti-Christ either.

Peace!

because the Bible mentions that the Antichrist will change the days and times. which the Roman empire and the pope did- they changed the Sabbath from sat to Sunday- (Bible also says all will be deceived, and we have been) and they change all Gods holidays to the pagen ones and slapped Gods name on them- they changed the day that was from sundown to sundown(Gods original plan) to 24 hrs. The catholic church will admit to these things, as they feel they have the right to do them.
