i think its stopping me from downloading flash player, will it do any harm disabling it, its just i cant here any sound on videos i play on youtube and similar sites

Active X is a tool that is used by Internet Explorer (IE) for some web pages. Other browsers, such as Firefox (FF) don't use Active X, which is why FF doesn't work with certain web pages, such as Windows Update..
(You need Active X For Windows Update.) Go to
Tools->Internet Options->Security Settings->Custom Level->Run Active X controls and plug-ins.. Then Setup as you require, You need Active X to run Flash.If your having problem's with sound in video it's a codec problem,try useing VLC player look's basic but play's just about any thing,other than that download a codec pack (just Google codec) should find plenty. Hope this help's.

left click tools click internet options then click advanced (top right)
