I've been a member of Match.com for about 4 months now, and almost every profile that I choose to click on has something like these statements:

-I'm very open and excited to try new things..
-Extraordinary possibilities await!
-I love to go new places and try new things.
-I'm sassy
-I appreciate flexibility and someone who can be spontaneous.
-I am looking for someone who doesn't take life too seriously, and is willing to let loose.

How would "letting loose," "trying new things," and "being spontaneous" actually manifest themselves? Why brag about being "sassy"?
It sounds like these ladies would tire a lot of guys out. I am not interested in running around looking for excitement all the time. These goals seem a little bombastic, if you ask me. Am I reading too much into these statements? Are these the criteria that more attractive women have?

They're just trying to sound fun and appealing to men, and present themselves as "no strings attached party girls" because they think that's what men want.
The quality of men responders would increase if they said things like- marriage and family is important- need stable, secure man with strong family values- etc.

Your instincts are correct--those self-descriptions are ridiculous and not carefully thought through at all. As an occasional on-line dater, I am very unforgiving about poorly written profiles. To me, that demonstrates a lack of generosity, not to mention imagination. Boring online always means boring in person, and amazingly, you really can tell a lot from the profile. Such as, can they distinguish "they're" from "their." If someone is sloppy in there profile, it is safe to assume they are not really interested in a meaningful relationship. They should realise that the 'net is the place where it is vital for mate-seekers to be selective, and act accordingly. In short, of course these are not the criteria that more attractive women have. Don't waste your time with profiles such as the above.

These statements sound like something in a multiple choice personality profile or something. It sounds to me like they are stressing the fact that they need a little excitement in their lives. Who knows, that's why I'm thankful I'm happily married. Anyway, why not give it a try. You'll never know unless you go out with someone. I think it's really hard to tell from a dating site questionaire what type of people they really are.

They are designed for women who I think personally are thinking men are dogs and want to compete with them. They think that telling all these lies about themselves will get a guys desires. Very sad.

It's a nice way of saying they are adventurious sexually without actually saying they are easy women.
