Can a nurse "hold my hand" whilst the Phleb does the test. ?

Hate needles. They make me feel sick & dizzy.

Explain how you are so afraid and most Nurses are trained to try to calm a patient and help them to get thru a test. They will have suggestions to try to help you be at ease.

You need to let the them know you have a phobia about needles. They should have a second person there. I work in a hospital and we usually have another person there.It usually makes the patient more comfortable.

Absolutely, figuratively or literally. Nurses are there to provide holistic care, that means we deal with more than just medical issues themselves. Our goal is to provide the best care possible: physically, spiritually, emotionally, psychologically, etc. I'd hold your hand if I was there. :-)

If you tell them about your phobia, I'm sure they'll accommodate you (they SHOULD, at least).
