I am so sick of seeing Christans act like Christans at church but not anywere else.If Jesus (lets say) came to school with you for a day Would you still spend so much time with unchristian like friends, act unchristian like, pretend that you weren't a Christian?? I Know that not all Christians act different when they are not at church but I see a lot of it happening and I think they shouldn't be afraid to show their faith.

I don't think they're afraid to show their faith, I think it's more of they're putting on an act at church and that's how they are in real life.

I know this from my step-mother for she is exactly like that. She goes to church every Sunday and is charge of the choir, the New Persons Greeting Society and one of the children's Bible stuides and everyone loves her there. They think she's wonderful and always ask if I'm thankful for having such a wonderful step-mother, but once we're out of church it all changes.

She's mean, nasty and screams a lot, something that the people at church never see. She never says sorry or thank you or anything, if you saw her out and about you'd never believe she was a 'christian'. I sometimes don't! It's even worse when she announced that if her church didn't have coffee the next time she went that she was going to find another church.

That's what I mean when I say that most likely they're acting like a christian and truly aren't, it's nothing more than a way to look good and socialize for a little bit.

True christians (though we do have our bad days) usually try to follow God's teachings on humility and the strength in weakness. And at least most true christians I know are nice and moral, so I'm sorry you've met a lot of christians like my step-mother.

It's easier to play Christian than it is to actually LIVE a Christian life. People take the easy road and it is sad. I love the old saying,"You can talk the talk but can you walk the walk." It is so true and many so called Christians can not. All you can do is work on your own spiritual life and pray for the ones around you. You living out loud will make a lot more of a difference than what you might think. You never know who might be watching; and you don't want some one that is looking up to you, to say the same things that you are saying right now about you. God Bless!

Many years ago, a colorful evangelist of another generation said that sitting in a church didn't make you a Christian—any more than sitting in a garage made you an automobile! There is a lot of truth in that.

You see, it's accepted or even popular in some places to go to church. But what often happens is that a person only goes through the motions, and never allows God to touch his or her heart. And when that happens, God isn't touching their lives either, and they go on living as if He didn't exist. The Bible warns, "As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead" (James 2:26). In other words, being a Christian outwardly doesn't necessarily mean a person is a Christian inwardly, and has committed his or her life fully to Christ.

Never forget: Our faith is to be in Christ and what He has done for us, not in other people. People are imperfect and will fail us; Christ never will. Only God knows the hearts of those you see around you—but what about you? Is your faith in Him? Don't let the bad example of some keep you from Christ.

In addition, I hope you will pray for those you meet who aren't living the way they should. Ask Him also to help you confront them with their hypocrisy, as He opens the door. They need a living faith, and God can use you to draw them to Himself.

Imitation is the first steps of creation. Most Christians are imitators of other Christians at church. The way they speak, the way they do things, the way they think and so on are often mere imitation. We cannot be sick of this because Children do the same while they are growing. Once they grow up, they stop imitating and start living by their own. The Christians those who practice in Church only are immature. As they learn the Lord they live in Him. It takes time. They trouble others with criticism, hypocrisy and offensive words while they are immature and growning. Hope you see the processes of growing christian.

Yes...it is soooooooo hard to be perfect . Christians struggle with the same issues as everybody else. It must be soooooo difficult for you to understand why they still struggle with the same problems of behaviour as the rest of the population ...it gets down to this...we are ALL sinners , even Christians . All on a journey called LIFE & sin will be part of that until the Lord takes us home !

That is an EXCELLENT question. Some Christians do act that way. I read in a book that it is living a "half-Christian" life. Now, nobody can live a "half-Christian" life...either they are all for God or against God. They think that living like a Christian at church is good enough, but to God he wants your all.

Does a healthy person need an Emergency Room in the hospital?

The Church is FOR sinners, not the self righteous.

Act is the key word, it's all a big act from start to finish in my opinion, feel free to hold a different opinion to me but that is what I think... it's all a big act!

And you know what it's the basic emptyness at the bottom of the lie they pretend to believe in that makes them such actors...there is nothing there when you really study it...The God Who Wasn't There.

They want the best of both worlds. First off, they want to have all the fun they can on earth. Second, they still want to get to heaven because they are afraid of hell, which is the only reason they are Christian in the first place.
