If you have tried many expensive and inexpensive moisturizer that did not work at all, then you need the very basic and important solution in life to make skin/face softer and healthier....which is WATER! And you will see the difference when you make a habit of drinking water everyday at least 8 full glasses everyday, try to eat vegetables salad everyday, stop drinking too much pop everyday and not too much of sunlight exposure.....if you can do that then you will get what you want.

1. Avoid the use of tap water when cleansing dry skin. The deposits are too drying on the skin. Use mineral water to freshen your face.
2. Apply a spray of mineral water on your skin misted on with a plant sprayer every morning and pat your skin dry.
3. Cleanse your dry skin regularly. Make sure your skin gets extra careful protection. Washing dry skin with soap and water not only removes grime but also the natural oils protecting the skin. A moisturizer increases the water content of the outer layers of the skin and gives it a soft, moist look.
4. Use non detergent, neutral-pH products to cleanse your skin. Avoid using any commercial soap. And always touch your face gently. Double-cleanse with a cream, leaving a light, thin trace of it on the skin after the second cleansing.
5. Follow a bath or a shower with a mild application of baby oil. Massage your face with home-made nourishing cream every night before retiring. Be generous with the cream in the areas surrounding the eyes where tiny lines and crows feet are born.
Avoid coming in contact with highly alkaline soaps and detergents like washing sodas and powders which contain highly alkaline and drying ingredients.
6. Moisten with water, then apply a thin film of air-excluding moisturizer, this will restore the suppleness of the dry skin.

If you have Clinique yellow lotion it will work. I have used it before and it doesn't cost much.
