It says in the bible Jesus died at the ninth hour but its called 3pm
The ninth hour for us is 9 am .how do they figure 3 pm?

The day started at 6:00 am.
Our day starts at midnight.

I don't think time was right back then. People lived hundreds of years and that the earth was made in 6 days, when we have proof that it took billions. I think they did not know the time.
Still the time it's self does not matter much really.

I think they mean the ninth hour after being on the cross.

I think the day started at our 6 AM. The 6th hour is noon, so 9th would be 3 PM.
