Cloning is a complex procedure that costs a lot of money. Of animals whose food products are generally sold in stores, only perhaps a couple dozen have been cloned in any case, so I'm not sure why you believe this is a pressing issue.

Personally I would not want to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for a steak, which at this time is about what they'd have to charge to recoup the money spent on research and cloning. Currently, there is a very high rate of health issues for cloned animals, so they would probably not be approved for sale as food products anyway, just as diseased animals born the usual way cannot be sold for human consumption. Five or ten years down the road, that may be a different story.

My husband and I have been trying to do some research in this area as well. Here is a link to the FDA documents/articles that come up when you search their site for animal cloning. Also, the second link is a list of things that come up if you do a simple Yahoo! search on the same topic. I'm not sure where you stand.... so I'm doing my best to give neutral, unbiased info :)
