I opened up my stupid mouth and said that my parents told me I was spending too much time with her, which was a mistake in itself, and she was offended by it. Now she feels that my parents dont want us to be together and that she isnt good enough for me, even though I'm the luckiest guy in the world to be with her...it seems like everytime I see her she becomes sad all of the sudden and I see her being fine when she's not around me...any suggestions...or is this out of reach? I really want to make this work.

Hi I am a mom who actually caused this same problem for my son this is how I fixed things.

I invited his girl friend shopping with me. We talked some small talk and had a nice day together. Then I brought up the subject that I thought she was a very nice girl and that I am glad that she makes my son very happy. She asked me why I said they were spending to much time together then. I explained to her that I felt that for a healthy relationship both of them needed their own space for family and friends. That my concern was for both of them.

I am sure that is how your parents meant what they said also.

Ash and I get along great. She calls me more than she does my son now lol. Let your parents know how she feels I am sure that this can be corrected very easily

You're not the only guy that makes this mistake. I, too, did it. And it took me a long time to work it out. Explain to her that your parents didn't get to know her yet, give them a chance. Try to arrange things so that she can spend more time with your folks, like coming over for dinner, and arrange her to help your mom cook. Be creative, give them time to get to know each other, then the truth shall come out. Good luck!

Tell her that your parents just want you to save money and it has nothing to do with her. Ask your Mom if she will write your girlfriend a nice note explaining how they want you to save your money and they are glad about your relationship. Ask your Mom to put the note on a pretty card. This should make your girlfriend feel special.

That's a hard one. The one thing I've learned is that once you tell your g/f or s/o something like that, it's hard to just forget & move on. As time goes by, maybe she'll lose that edge she has now. But keep talking through things...time heals all wounds.

Just leave her alone for a while. Maybe she's just testing you to see if you really love her and want to be with her. Another thing you can do is talk it out, but wait a little while to talk to her. Hope everything works out!

if shes upset because she thinks your parents dont like her and ur parents r mad because you spend too much time with her then bring her around your parents that way she can see that they do like her and you parents cant get mad because no only are you hanging out with your girlfriend but your spending time with them too
