It's slow-growing and not producing significant symptoms now. However, her carotid is running close to the tumor, and that's why the surgeon recommends removing the growth now. Only sig pt hx is HBP, possible TIAs. Thanks!

You'll have to weigh the risks vs. the benefits. She does have bilateral carotid arteries (everybody does). If she were to undergo general anasthesia with a history of TIAs, her risk may be high for stroke while on the table. Please have her cleared by an internest and a cardiologist prior to making a decision.

If she is in good health, then sure. The only way I would say no is if she was in poor health or terminally ill.
