It's not something that people in the UK have been used to but if it helps combat terrorism then it is acceptable.

What no "666" bar-code branded onto peoples foreheads?
The Rapture Junkies will be disappointed.

I've had one my entire life, it's called a passport. I have had another one since I started working and paying taxes, in Canada it's called a Social Insurance Number. I have a driver's license. I have ID cards for various professional organizations I belong to. I have a birth certificate.

A national ID card in the States is more about the religious right wing hegemony that is controlling the government right now, and wants even more power and control of peoples lives. Your Bill of Rights will be shredded if you don't get those nuts out of office.

I'm a journalist, and I've interviewed the chief executive of a company that specialises in biometric scanners, which will probably be used for ID cards. His words were:
"Of course, you know ID cards won't help in the slightest to fight terrorism? Because of course firstly most terrorists nowadays are otherwise law-abiding citizens, and secondly every technological advance you make invites people to crack it, to copy it, to find ways to beat it, and they will. The only thing they'll help with is probably cases of identity theft."

So, adding that to the question of invasion of personal privacy, the assumption of criminality that the ID card infers, and the notion that the State decides what they have a right to know about you, I'm not a big fan.

I think we already have them.

In the military, everyone uses the same ID no matter where you come from.

Civilians already have a social security card, same whether you're from Georgia or Alaska.

The nation hasn't fallen into chaos yet, so I don't see what the big deal is. If George Bush announces it, it will be a bad idea as far as the media is concerned. If Nancy Pelosi introduces it, it will be a strange, new and wonderful experiment in governing that no one had ever thought of before.

Dude... They've had one for the past 70 years... It's called a social security number...

Everytime something new comes out the whole world starts pointing fingers screaming that it's the mark of the beast.

The fact is, the mark won't be implemented until the 70th week of Daniel. Which is the tribulation. If you believe in a pre-tribulation rapture, it really doesn't matter a whole hill of beans to christians living on the world today.

That's my 2 cents worth.

I think I have been carrying federally issued ID for years and they have anything they want on me. They have my fingerprints and a genetic sample.

What's another card going to do? Some 12 year old hacker from Iowa will be mass producing them before the summer is out.

Well let's see, we carry a drivers license, we have social security cards, my job requires my fingerprint to clock my hours & a magnetic badge to gain entrance to the building.

So given that, what's the big deal about another piece of plastic in my wallet.

terrorism is a lie to convince people to give up their rights.

"Papers? do you have your papers?"

It is pure socialism reminiscent of the national socialists (Nazis)

all the while our borders are wide open. Now if they were really concerned about security the border would have been immediately closed. kinda shows you it's a farce to destroy the constitution.

Reminiscent of Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia. Not desirable. Besides it already exists, it is called a passport.

Are you saying this with reference to the mark of the beast?
If not, please excuse me.
If so, I can absolutely assure you that the mark of the beast will not be an ID card, it will not be a computer chip placed in your arm, it will not be a tattoo or a stamp.
The Bible tells you that if you have wisdom, count the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, 666 (my short version).
Okay - this word "count" as written here from the manuscripts, does not mean to count like 1-2-3; what the word count means is to enumerate over a long period of time, as water that runs over rocks until they are made smoothe. To "enumerate" this mark of the beast, you would need to trace it back to its origin. So where did this mark begin? Was it even mentioned before?
Well, yes it certainly was. Go to Genesis where you find Adam and Eve in the garden. Eve sinned - and Adam participated.
What was this sin that was so bad? They sewed fig leaves together to make what? masks to cover their mouths because they ate an apple? Nope. They made aprons to cover their private parts - because that was the part that indulged in the sin. Eve was beguiled by satan. "beguiled" means to be "wholly seduced". Eve had sexual relations with satan, who was the tree of good/evil. (Christ was the tree of life, of course).
God told Eve that He would multiply her conceptions; He did -mutliplied by two. A conception is when you conceive a child -
She was pregnant; one pregnancy, two separate sacks; two different fathers. She was pregnant with twins. Cain and Abel.
Adam was Abels father. Satan was Cains father. This was satans first attempt (in the flesh) to pollute the lineage - the blood line that womb to womb down the line would come who? The Christ child. I know this is not taught normally in the churches, but it is in fact straight from the original manuscripts of the Holy Christian Scriptures. Chapter 5 is the geneology of Adam. You will not find Cain listed there, because Adam simply is not his father. Anyway, Cain is thrown out of the garden, and God places a mark on him. And there it is, your very first notice of the mark of the beast. Cain had many, many decendants, and you can find them in the Bible. They are called Kenites, which translated means "sons of Cain". These Kenites even made it thru the flood of Noah, and you will find them alive and well and doing scribe-work for the tribe of Judah, in 1Chronicles 2:55.
In the end generation, Antichrist will come (satan) BEFORE Christ returns, and he will come disguised as Jesus Christ, pretending to be Christ. The mass majority of good Christian people who do not study the Word and who do not know that Antichrist comes first, will be deceived and think this fake is the real Christ. Those elect who know its the fake, will not be deceived, of course. Thats what Gods seven seals are for - they are the seals of God that are placed into his children who know that this is the fake. The opposite of that will be those who are deceived by the antichrist, and guess what they will be "sealed" with? The mark of the beast. When the Scriptures say the mark is in the forehead, or on the right hand, well, whats in your forehead? your brain. The right hand statement is an idiom which simply means doing the work of the false one. I don't care if they tattoo you from head to toe with 666, its not gonna change what you believe, and those who know he is the fake will not be deceived. its really that simple. And for those who think the rapture is real, you will be among those deceived. Those who have the seal of God, and who know that this first "jesus" that comes is the antichrist, they do not need to fly up and away to escape anything - they escape that hour because they know the truth. Besides, Jesus Christ Himself tells you in Mark 13 that His elect will be delivered up before this false one as a witness for the true Christ. If you are raptured up in the sky somewhere, how are you going to do this work that Christ has spoken of?
Sorry so wordy, I needed to be so I could explain this.
The "666" - oh, thats a real mystery. What happens on the 6th seal? Antichrist appears pretending to be Christ. What happens on the 6th vial? Antichrist comes pretending to be Christ. What happens at the 6th trumpet? Antichrist comes pretending to be Christ. There is no confusing mystery to any of this. If people would just slow down, dump the garbage they have heard from man, and just read Gods Word in the simplicity in which it is taught, they would get so much common sense from it.
There would be no confusion, no seeminly contradicting verses, etc.
A little simple tid-bit: If you are still in the flesh body, and that one comes performing miracles and saying that he is Christ, Its the fake. When the true Christ comes, we are instantly changed into our spiritual bodies. So, if you're in the flesh, he's the fake.
