i am a paramedic and both of those blood pressures are excellent. you may feel this way because you got up suddenly from laying down.

117/75 is good, 118/84 isn't bad either. they consider it borderline hypertension at 120/80, but one reading doesn't make you borderline. You are probably coming down with something, just drink lots of water and rest. If you're feeling "weird", that will change a blood pressure reading because your anxious. After you are feeling better, take your BP again and see what it is. If you get more than 3-5 reading of the higher up, you may want to think about changing your lifestyle some (diet and exercise). But you don't have high BP with those #'s.
But remember, I am not a doc either! If you're concerned, have it checked out.
Hope your feeling better soon! :)

No, you do not have hypertension.
Our blood pressure changes with every heartbeat, and the two readings you gave are very close.
Most hypertensives, even with extremely high blood pressures, do not have symptoms.
Your weak and dizzy feelings are caused by something else (and you may react to the "something else" with changes in blood pressure)
Get some rest this weekend, and if you don't improve, see a doctor.

Your blood pressure is not too low for most people; it may be low for you. Go to a doctor and get checked out. You may have something that can be treated.

This is something you need to discuss with your doctor. The American Heart Association categorizes a diastolic (lower number) over 80 as being "prehypertension."
