Well, I'd believe he could walk on water, not that he was God, the son of God, or the ghost of God. I would have to believe, however, that he is part fish.
As per an answer already posted previous to mine, the Bible seems to have this "what if" sewed up. God said if it really did happen people wouldn't believe it anyway, which encourages many Christians to make an excuse for why it hasn't. This is the most elementary thinking in the world. It's like a 6 year-old saying "I can fly", and another saying "Oh, no, you can't", and the 6 year-old responding "Can too, but you wouldn't believe me anyway so I won't."
Brilliant.

When Jesus did walk the earth, people rejected his claims that he was the Son of God, even after performing miracles - even the Pharisees, who were waiting for the Messiah to come!
So even if Jesus came and walked on water today, people would still not believe, even though they would tell you otherwise. The thing is, is that the Bible says that this is to be expected! Crazy.
:D

Walking on water isn't that impressive, I once saw a bird walk on water on the animal planet. So no I will not believe in Jesus...ever.

You're right...I saw David Copperfield do the same trick.
If you want to convert this atheist, Jesus (or god) would have to come down, take a handful of dirt, and create a living human being. Anything else would be a parlor trick.

Having the ability to walk on water does not equate with being a god. He could just be more highly evolved than most. I'd need a little more convincing.

I think the bigger question is why do some people who CLAIM they believe still ignore what the Bible says Jesus told you to do: help the sick, the poor, criminals, etc. and make peace not war.
If more people who call themselves Christians spent more time living up to that kind of thing, then more people would believe in all of that.

No, it's more a matter of understanding than belief as Jesus himself points out -- Matthew 16 1-4:
they asked him to show them a sign from heaven and he answered them saying "When it is evening, you say, 'It will be fair weather; for the sky is red.' And in the morning, 'It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times".
Don't look to the signs!
"Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves [spiritual knowledge]". -- John 6 v26

I'm a Christian and in all fairness, I think a lot of religious people would have a hard time accepting that too just like those who doubted him when he did walk the earth.

First of all i wouldn't believe him even if he said his name was Jesus. Second of all walking on water wouldn't impress me!
