I would say (apart from the obvious Scottish Breakfast - bacon, sausage, black pudding, potato scone, mushrooms and tomato) that the nicest way I've ever had it was in a great restaurant in Glasgow..
A slice of black pudding, fried, and topped with pidgeon breast, shallots, mushrooms and what I guess was a nice red wine sauce (or port)..
I'd say treat it like game. Great with duck or a strong gamey bird, pheasant or grouse.
Black pudding also goes well with haggis.. I assume some sort of whisky sauce or glaze atop a slice of either would be fantastic.

Fry your BP in a bit of butter in a frying pan. Remove from the pan and keep warm. Pour some double cream into the pan (for 2 people I use 1/4 pt). Allow to bubble, and stir to scrape up all the black puddingy goodness. Stir in good wholegrain mustard to taste. Finally, add a smidge of lemon juice. Serve with the BP, boiled spuds and veg. Very calorific, but there are times when calorific is what you need.

Well, you can't beat it with bacon and eggs for breakfast! but I also like it hot with a creamy mustard sauce, yummy! or maybe cold with other cooked meats in a salad! any way, where do you get the best black pudding? I thought we had it here in Wales!

Why not use it in a Cassoulet, with belly pork, mutton, haricot beans and garlic sausage. Its not traditional, but it works. There is a detailed recipe below, just add your blood sausage.
Alternatively you could just slice it down the middle, grill it and eat with baked beans or tinned tomatos on toast.
