Just give it time, when your cat is ready to warm up to the pup she will. Don't leave the pup alone tho with your cat in case your cat decides to scratch or bite the puppy. Maybe keep the pup separate as much as you can for now until the cat gets comfortable enough to be around the puppy. When you leave your home for any length of time, put the pup in one area of the house and the cat in another area. Just to be on the safe side. If they do connect, be there to supervise so that the cat won't hurt the puppy. Don't forget to love your cat too. Give her more attention now. She was the first one there and probably feels threatened now with the puppy in the house. She might feel left out too since the new addition came along. Usually they will warm up within a few weeks. Give it time, they will make friends soon. Seeing too that she just got fixed, she's is in some pain and will be for a few days. It takes about a week or so until she will start feeling better. Hope this helps in your situation.

Well one thing stop trying so hard. You can't MAKE each animal like or love each other. Plus, since your girl cat just got fixed, it will take her some time to recover, give her at least a month. Plus you know she is hurting, and might not like to be carried or anything at the moment. All she will want to do, is sleep, be lazy, so she can recover. Puppy's and cats can sense these things also. The puppy will grow up with the kitty, so they will eventually bond, in some way. Just make sure at this time since the kitty is recovering that the puppy doesn't try to play with her. In a good 2 months they should start to get better with each other.

Cats need time to adjust to new animals in the household. I hope you introduced them gradually. Ideally, you should isolate the new pet and let the previous pet get used to the idea of a new animal in the house. Your cat may never become best friends with the dog, but over time she will learn to deal with it, even if that means just keeping her distance.
