YES!!! It's better to bake them in the oven without foil in the first place!

Preheat oven to 400 degrees farenheight

Wash the potatoes, and prick with a fork a few times all around it.

Place on a baking sheet, and bake in the oven for approximately 1 hour or until soft.

Best baked potatoes, in my opinion, are never placed in foil, as this method "steams" the potatoes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees, and place a rack on a cookie sheet. Give your potatoes a good scrub. With a fork poke once on each side, cover with veggie oil, and then roll in salt. Then place the potatoes on the rack, and bake for about 60 minutes. I always turn them half way through baking. Perfect fluffy potatoes! Oh, and you can use a papertowl to remove some or all of the salt after baking and before eating (I usually leave a good amount on, as we like to eat the skins too).

I saw this idea on the Food Network...take a cookie sheet and spread about a 1/4 inch of sea salt all over the sheet. Place the potatoes on top of that and bake in the oven. The heat from the oven can move through the sea salt, and the potato gets cooked from all sides. It's really yummy!

You absolutely should bake potatoes without foil. Wrapping in foil can cause botulism.
Follow the link and you will see what I'm saying is true.

I don't ever use the oven or foil to bake potatoes because of the energy you have to use with an oven. If you have a microwave oven just puncture the skin with a knife and put them in for about 4-5 minutes and WA-LA! Potatoes....If you do not have microwave you do not HAVE to use foil...

I never bake potatoes with foil.
The skin turns out much nicer without the foil.

Yes -- in fact, they taste better that way. Just poke some holes in the potatoes, place them in a 400-degree oven and bake for about an hour.

Yes. Remember to poke holes in them with a fork before baking. If not you will have 'potato' bombs going off in your oven.
