For a start Get a Job, any job and save your money up, without it you can't go anywhere, and it's all up to you, not anyone else. If you want something badly enough you can get it. It has nothing to do with your color, I would be a very sad case if I thought I couldn't go anywhere or do anything because of the color of my skin. I am a white lady and have been to Africa and South Africa many many times and been the only "white" woman around in many places. I have been to places like Papua New Guinnea, Malaysia, China, Indonesia. and have Never felt as if I would not be accepted. That my dear is all about Self Asteem, be proud of your self and make others proud of you too. God Bless

You could join the Peace Corp, but it doesn't sound like that is right for you.

By the way, what does being black have to do with being able to travel and live abroad? Or, with being broke?

If you can't get a job here, why do you think you'll have more success in a country where you're unfamiliar with the customs and in Japan, the language? There are very few places where you can work when you can't communicate well.

Get a job and squirrel away all of your money - don't buy any extras at all. Also, educate yourself on the countries you want to go to, and start learning about the culture, work force, and languages. Almost everyone can find their way to a library for a great resource. After this, make your way to a port city here and secure a position on the docks or even on a boat that goes abroad, and work your way over to a country of choice, then repeat for your next move

Teach English in Japan. You don't need a degree if you just tutor people on conversation.

Like everybody else smuggle yourself in. Try Cuba, go through Mexico and
enter into Cuba, it is illegal and you could lost your America citizenship or end up in jail. Why would you. Go Get a Job any job and save your money. :)

Is not about your financial situation, is about you adapting and respecting their culture and traditions. Then you should be fine. On regards to descrimination, it might not be your race necessarily,.......my friends are white, and got descriminated for merely being Canadian and Australian. Is NOT always about race my friend.

Audrey is right. They are called jobs and savings accounts. Who pays your rent? Who buys your meals? (As if I didn't know)
