I can assure you that he will die eventually. I cannot tell you what the cause will be.
There's too many variables in the question to answer whether or not the alcohol will kill him, such as:
-How much is a 'unit' of alcohol?
-How many 'units' does he drink a day?
-What size is the adult male?
-What sort of tollerance has he built up prior to this rate of consumption?
But either way, yes, eventually he is going to die whether he drinks or not.

Is a unit 1.5 oz? If so, this is about the equivalent of consuming 11 beers a week, or 1.6 beers a day. This is about the level of alcohol consumption that is supposed to be beneficial!

A unit of alcohol is equivalent to 1 jig of liquor, a 4 oz glass of wine, or one bottle of beer.
If he drinks the equivalent of 90 drinks a week, that is about 13 drinks a day. Sooner or later he will develop cirrhosis of the liver which leads to liver failure and eventual death, faster than any of his non drinking friends. This is unfortunate, and he truly needs help: counseling, AA meetings, etc, but he must want to get away from it himself, otherwise he will get sick, and sicker fast.

He is born to die like all of us, but yes if someone consumes a large amount of alcohol everyday he/she is destroying their body. The liver can only take so much abuse. It is best if he just takes the right steps to quit drinking altogether.

I worked in pubs where we had groups of old-timers, men in their 80s, drink 6 to 10 classes of beer a day. Everyday.
