Why shouldn't we be flawed? There are no gods. We got here through gradual adaptation. That's a great process for creating complex creatures, but it doesn't mean that we are perfect in any sense.

There are rules to everything.
There can only be one God, and there can only be One Perfection.
Thus everything else, is automatically, unperfect.
The unperfection isnt necessarily a tangible one tho.
For example, you cannot live forever, you grow old, you are bound to make mistakes, whenever you try to do something perfectly, you will fail.
Otherwise, we are born full. Not flawed. Full but not Perfect.
Theres a practice done by sufis in Islam, whenever they draw or paint something, if it looks perfect to their eyes, they add a small inconsistency somewhere, a line perhaps or a scribble.
The reason they do that is so they wouldnt inflate their egos and think they have done something perfect, as this would go against their love of that which is the real Perfection.

If you had created everything there is, wouldnt you ask for some credit too?

You have the wrong idea, Angels and Humans are too distinct and seperate creatures, satan is not and never was human.
Human nature became flawed by the sin of pride and ultimate rebellion against the will of God,Mankind could have stayed in the higher state of innocence that God made them to be right up to the present time if they had chosen to remain obedient.
Finally the Angels were created long before Human beings.

Actually, despite what Christian theology alla Hollywood might say, angels were not once human. Satan was always an angel (that is from the moment God created him).
Why are human flawed...? Just my thoughts...
If God created something perfect he would have been creating himself. He already loves himself, but chose to love that which is different from him. If humans were perfect, would God have to love us...? Would God not have a choice but to love us? But then is that love? Is love a choice or is it something one must do? Also, if humans were perfect, wouldn't they automatically "love" God?
I think love is a choice and so our being imperfect has to do with both our not being God and our being created to have freedom of choice, which means God took a big risk and loved us enough not to force us to always do his will (by making us perfect) and by giving us the freedom to actually make mistakes... (gasp)... He did, however, show us a way to perfection, which would mean a life in union with him... but again... free will...

The Old Testament says that God made us in his image. It then goes on to describe a God who seemed to be ruled by VERY human emotions. One emotion is so strong that he says it is his name- Jealousy. The God described in the OT is flawed and not perfect at all. It then makes no sense that he would make a perfect creation when he himself is not perfect.
This disparity between a flawed God as described in the OT and a more perfect God described in the New Testament led to the Gnostic view that the OT god was a lower creator god, and that a more perfect being existed above him. They also reasoned that a God who was the first being would not have a name, as there was no one before him to give him a name. Indeed, the God of the NT is never said to have a proper name, while the OT God is named YHWH. It does seem odd to me that Jesus never calls the Father by that name.

The question is only relevant in the context of imaginary religious beliefs.
‘People’ are not ‘flawed’, unless you are talking about specific physical, mental, or emotional conditions clearly atypical of the species – and even then it is a worthless and subjective determination.
Only philosophers and greedy, power-hungry religious god-whisperers ponder such nonsense, and mostly it is the latter. It is a proven trick developed and perfected by religions to exploit the fears humans have of things they do not know or understand.
If anything, adults who believe in imaginary beings may be flawed, although there are hypotheses that also attribute that aspect of human nature to brain bio-chemistry – so that flaw might not be a flaw.

Can you imagine how irritating the perfect person would actually be? I can't think of anything worse than a race of perfect people, they'd all be too perfect to admit how much they irritated each other, it would be a nightmare.

Well, I would not confuse the race of angels with the race of humans. We are different species of beings.
You have it right that we humans are suffering because we are fallen due to our sins -- like you said, our souls were already flawed.
